After receiving a shocker in the 1st T20I, India made a strong comeback into the Triseries with a clinical win against Bangladesh. India started off on the right foot, winning the toss and electing to bowl first.
A resolute performance from the Indian bowling unit ensured Bangladesh being restricted to only 139. Vijay Shankar was responsible for putting the brakes on the Bangladeshi efforts with his spell of 2/32. He was ably supported by Jaydev Unadkat at the other end who clinched three wickets in the innings.
Chasing a below par total, Shikhar Dhawan yet again made an impressive contribution to the team.
Dhawan put on a 43-ball 55, to open India’s account in the Triseries. The elegant southpaw struck at a rate of 128, glazed with five magnificent boundaries and a couple of towering maximums.

As a result, India chased down the total with six wickets in hand and picked up a crucial couple of points to assert their dominance over the Tigers. The flamboyant opener was well supported by Raina and Manish Pandey in their respective efforts to take India home.
India keeps their record intact in T20Is against Bangladesh after completing their sixth straight win over the men in green. Vijay Shankar clinched the man of the match award for setting up an Indian victory.
“Was looking forward to this. Have been working hard, so very happy. Bowling has given me something extra in my game. We got wickets today, which helped us restrict them,” said Vijay Shankar after receiving the man of the match award.
“A lot of people (inspired me). Being with this team is a dream for every cricketer. Everyone in the dressing room is very supportive,” concluded the Sunrisers Hyderabad player.
