Ben Stokes, England and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder, has kickstarted his mandatory six-day quarantine process and he will undergo his first Covid-19 test on Sunday [October 04].

And, if all goes as per plan, the swashbuckling all-rounder would be eligible to take part in the Rajasthan Royals next week fixture against SunRisers Hyderabad in Dubai.

A Rajasthan Royals official, while speaking to ANI, confirmed that Ben Stokes has started his 6-day isolation process and his first Covid-PCR test will take place on Sunday.

“He has started his quarantine phase as soon as he reached the hotel. He will have his first test today and with the 6-day period ending the day we play against Delhi Capitals in Sharjah, we are looking at him playing against SRH. It will also help him get back into the groove as he has been off the field for some time,” the official said.

When asked if the all-rounder can be squeezed in for the game against Delhi Capitals on October 09, the official said-

“His quarantine period ends that day. So, he comes out and joins the team the next day which is October 10.” he added.

Ben Stokes is coming off a long break from the game after having spent time with his ailing father and his family in New Zealand. He had pulled out mid-way from the Test series against Pakistan before missing out on the white-ball series against Pakistan and Australia.
