On Saturday (12th December) evening, Melbourne Renegades will compete against Perth Scorchers at Bellerive Oval (Hobart) in the fourth match of the Big Bash League 2020/21 (BBL 10).

Both teams will begin their campaign in the BBL 10 with this evening match.

BBL 08 winners Melbourne Renegades finished in the last position in the BBL 09, where they only managed 3 victories and 6 points. Surely, they are desperate to show better team performance in this entire tournament.

Captain Aaron Finch is once again ready to lead this side. There are a total of 8 new faces in this team, including four uncapped BBL players. Apart from Josh Lalor and Jack Prestwidge, they have also added South African Rilee Rossouw and English cricketer Benny Howell (Overseas Replacement Player for Mohammad Nabi, who is completing the quarantine period).

In the meantime, Brody Couch, Peter Hatzoglou, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitch Perry are yet to make their respective BBL debuts.

Among their latest available squad, captain Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, Beau Webster, Rilee Rossouw etc are the big names in batting. In the last season, Marsh were their leading run-scorer as he scored 449 runs (average 37.41; strike-rate 124.03), including 3 fifties.

While their last season’s most wicket-taker, leg-spinner Cameron Boyce will miss out the early matches of this season, Kane Richardson has the big task to lead the bowling unit.

Three-time BBL winners Perth Scorchers finished in the sixth position in the BBL 09 as they just missed out to qualify for the playoffs. After always finishing in the top four positions in all the first seven BBL seasons, they failed to maintain this record in the last two BBL seasons.

Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead the Scorchers side. Apart from him, Cameron Bancroft, Ashton Turner, English cricketers Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone, New Zealand star Colin Munro are the big names in batting side.

While they will initially miss injured Ashton Agar, their other main retained bowlers Mitchell Marsh, Jhye Richardson, Matt Kelly will be happy to see the return of their leading wicket-taker Andrew Tye and second most wicket-taker Jason Behrendorff.
