BBL 07 winners Adelaide Strikers finished in the 3rd position in the BBL 09 points table but they were ultimately the 4th best team of that tournament as Sydney Thunder eliminated them from the Knockout.

Jake Weatherald and Jon Wells are the big names in their batting side. Both Weatherald and Wells scored 400+ runs in the last season.

Meanwhile, the leg-spinner Rashid Khan is their best bowler among the present squad, who was their most wicket-taker in the last season along with their present captain Peter Siddle.

Full Squad

Peter Siddle (C), Wes Agar, Danny Briggs, Ryan Gibson, Rashid Khan, Harry Nielsen (wk), Matt Renshaw, Phil Salt, Matt Short, Cameron Valente, Jake Weatherald, Jon Wells, Daniel Worrall

Hobart Hurricanes have made a great start in this new season as they beat the defending champions Sydney Sixers in the opening match of this tournament by 16 runs. Colin Ingram and Tim David scored half-centuries in their first outing for Hurricanes this season.

Also, the bowlers were mostly disciplined in that tournament opener. James Faulkner and Riley Meredith both managed to take two wickets each in that game. Surely, they want more positive performances from the side on Sunday, especially when they have the captain Peter Handscomb and opener D’Arcy Short.

Full Squad

Scott Boland, Johan Botha, Tim David, Nathan Ellis, James Faulkner, Peter Handscomb (C), Colin Ingram, Caleb Jewell, Will Jacks, Riley Meredith, David Moody, Wil Parker, D’Arcy Short, Charlie Wakim, Nick Winter, Macalister Wright

Strikers are ahead of Hurricanes in the head-to-head contest by 8-5 margin. However, both sides won their respective away matches during their meeting in the last BBL season.

While Hurricanes have started this season with a victory against the defending champions, Strikers have the good habit to start a BBL season with a win as they have managed six victories in their previous nine BBL tournament starters.
