The defending champions haven’t a good start in this new season as new-looking Hobart Hurricanes beat them in the tournament opener by 16 runs. They are surely thinking to come out from this situation at early.

Though Ben Dwarshuis (3/38) and Daniel Christian (3/36) both picked up three wickets each in that tournament opener, twin fifty helped Hurricanes to set the first innings total of 178/8.

In the second innings, though the opener Josh Philippe was dismissed in the first over for just 2 runs, they strongly returned to the game with the 116 runs partnership between the opener Jack Edwards and James Vince for the second wicket. While Edwards scored 47 off 39 balls, Vince scored 67 off 41 balls. But the next batters failed to provide the finishing support to the team as none of them managed to score at least 15 runs.

In the head-to-head contest, Sydney Sixers are leading by the 7-5 margin. In the BBL 09, Sixers won both the matches against Renegades by succesfully chasing the targets both the time.

Though they have started the BBL 10 in opposite fashion, they are very competitive sides.
