The well-built all-rounder Shane Watson bags yet another T20 franchise contract during the late stages of his cricketing career. The flamboyant all-rounder from Australia set to ply his trade for Khulna Titans in the upcoming season of the Bangladesh Premier League 2019-2020.

Khulna Titans, who finished bottom of the table in the sixth edition of BPL earlier this year, have signed Australian all-rounder Shane Watson as one of their overseas player for the upcoming season. Watson is the first of the two direct signings for Khulna Titans.

As the tournament is scheduled to be played at the end of December, it is expected that Shane Watson will be available for the full season to Khulna. Speaking of the same, the all-rounder quoted that his focus will be to hand the maiden title for the Khulna Titans, who finished bottom in the previous edition.

Watson is a true champion – Inam AhmedShane

Khulna Titans Managing Director Kazi Inam Ahmed quoted that they are excited to associate with a player like Shane Watson. He showered words of praise on Watson for his incredible track record in shorter formats of the game.

“Khulna Titans is excited to have Shane Watson join the franchise. He is a true champion. Having won many titles for his country and the franchise teams he has represented around the world. His experience and his winning mentality will contribute significantly to the team. Hopefully, Shane will propel us to the BPL title. Something, we have been working so hard for,” said Khulna Titans Managing Director Kazi Inam Ahmed as per Cricbuzz.

Speaking of the inclusion, the all-rounder Shane Watson quoted that he is pretty much excited to join Khulna Titans and raring to go. He expressed his happiness to play in front of Bangladesh passionate crowd and also expressed his belief in bringing the cup to Khulna.

”I am super excited to join the Khulna Titans. The very special thing for me is to have the chance to play in front of the incredible Bangladesh cricket loving fans again. The coaching and management team at the Khulna Titans are putting together an amazing squad. So, hopefully, we can bring home that title that we have always been looking for,” the Australia cricketer quoted.

Watson announced his BBL retirement in April. However, he continues to be an active player in other T20 leagues. In May, he nearly took Chennai Super Kings to the IPL title.  Meanwhile, he is set to turn out in the inaugural Euro T20 Slam as well. Before IPL 2019, he was the man of the tournament in Pakistan Super League.
