Brad Hogg Reckons KKR Will Pick Up A Comfortable Win Against A 'One-Dimensional' SRH

SunRisers Hyderabad does not have the pace attack ideally suited to the conditions in the United Arab Emirates, feels former Australian leg-spinner Brad Hogg.

SunRisers Hyderabad got off to a horrendous start to their Dream11 IPL 2020 campaign as they snatched a defeat from the jaws of victory after a middle-over meltdown saw them lose their last eight wickets for 32 runs. Apart from their middle-order woes, another thing that was quite evident in the last game was the lack of variety in their fast bowling stocks.

The likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, and Sid Kaul, who didn’t play the last game, are all similar types of bowlers and according to Brad Hogg, the ‘Orange Army’ is missing an out-and-out hit the deck kind of fast bowler for these conditions. They do have Billy Stanlake in their squad but given the fact that they have a star-studded contingent, it is difficult to slot in the burly Australian in the starting XI.

“I think Sunrisers Hyderbad’s bowling attack is not suited to UAE conditions. Yes they do get swing, but they do not have that out and out pace bowler who can hit the deck and push the batsman back off a good length. So that is a big hole that they have to fill,” Brad Hogg said on his YouTube channel.

SunRisers Hyderabad will now lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. The Knights are also coming off a humbling defeat in their opening game against perennial nemesis in Mumbai Indians.

Brad Hogg, however, believes that the Knight Riders will stage a comeback and affect a comfortable win against SunRisers Hyderabad. Hogg also tipped Andre Russell to score is quickest IPL fifty in the match-up against SRH. Russell had an ordinary outing against MI as he was cleaned up Jasprit Bumrah for a run-a-ball 11. The West Indian swashbuckler will be determined to set the record straight when he faces SRH tonight.

“I think KKR will win it quite comfortably tonight. I think Andre Russell is going to have another good night and we are going to see one of the quickest fifties off his bat as well,” Brad Hogg said.
