Brett Lee Reveals That He Was Advised To Not Sledge Sachin Tendulkar Early-On In His Career By Glenn McGrath

Brett Lee and Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar had a plethora of battles on the cricket field during their careers. Sachin recently celebrated his 47th birthday and from fans to media personnel to former and current cricketers, everyone took to social media and various other platforms to post their heartfelt wishes for the ‘God of Cricket’.
Sachin Tendulkar was one of those rare breeds of cricketers who you just couldn’t sledge on a cricket field. The more a bowler sledged him, the more he became determined in his resolve to reply with his bat.
And, a plethora of bowlers during the course of his celebrated 24-year-old career learned it the hard way. Australian fast bowling legend Brett Lee recently revealed the advice that Glenn McGrath gave when he made his International debut, incidentally against India in the 1999 Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Brett Lee on the advise that Glenn McGrath gave him regarding Sachin Tendulkar
Brett Lee revealed that Glenn McGrath had advised him not to have a verbal barrage at Sachin, because if he did, then he’ll be in a lot of pain thought the day.
“There was always a bowling captain, when I was growing up, there was Glenn (McGrath) and he would always say to the young guys coming through, be it Mitch Johnson or any of the young guys, Do not talk to Sachin, if you do, you will in pain whole day. So that was it, that was what we discussed in our bowling meeting, do not talk to Sachin,” Lee said Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.
The Australians are infamous for their on-field sledging, something that they refer to as ‘mental disintegration’ and they have used it to good effect against a plethora of players over the years. Not Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin had an incredible record against the Australians. The Master Blaster racked up 3630 runs in 39 Tests at an average of 55 which also includes 11 centuries and a masterly 241 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in 2004.
He was even more lethal in white-ball cricket. In 71 ODI games that Tendulkar played against the then world champions, he accumulated 3077 runs with the help of nine centuries with his best score being 175.
