Australia pace legend Brett Lee, a part of the official broadcasters panel for IPL 2020, is unhappy with the way KKR utilised their veteran spinner Sunil Narine against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). KKR registered a narrow win by 10 runs in the match but Brett Lee was unimpressed by the blueprint followed by the winning team.

KKR captain Dinesh Karthik utilised  Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Mavi, Pat Cummins and Kamlesh Nagarkoti in the initial 10 overs in the match against CSK. Nairne was introduced in the 11th over and returned figures of 1/31 in the match. Lee said that KKR might have got away in that match but the blueprint might work for them.

“KKR got away with it (against CSK) and I think CSK threw it away. I don’t think holding Narine back is the best thing. It worked against CSK but I don’t think it’s the blueprint (for KKR),” Brett Lee said.

KKR will next face KXIP in the IPL 2020

Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) will host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League 2020 (IPL) clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. KKR are currently at the fourth spot in the IPL 2020 points table with KXIP are seated at the bottom of the table with only one win.

KKR will enter the match at the back of a narrow defeat against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But the resolved opening pair for KKR will be a big positive for the side. KKR will back Rahul Tripathi and Shubman Gill to open for the side which means Sunil Narine can play the role of a floater as per requirement of the side. The major concern for KKR will be Andre Russell’s batting form although he has done well with the ball.

KXIP have shown over-reliance on KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal in the past few matches while Glenn Maxwell has looked out of touch. Nicholas Pooran showed his brilliance in the previous match and KXIP might chip in with Chris Gayle.
