India’s batting coach Sanjay Bangar has backed KL Rahul to come good in the forthcoming series. Bangar believes Rahul is one good knock away from regaining his lost form. Rahul could only make three runs in the ongoing four-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI. Meanwhile, the flamboyant batsman hasn’t been able to bat up to his potential in the recent past.
Rahul had nine ordinary innings on the England tour when he was troubled by the incoming delivery. It was in Oval when KL Rahul finally found back his Midas Touch where he scored a fluent 149. However, the stylish batsman could not deliver the goods in the Test series against the Windies.
Rahul’s place is in jeoopardy.
Sanjay Bangar believes Rahul is finding new way to get himself out. The Karnataka batsman was once again dismissed while poking at the ball.
“He’s [Rahul] trying to find ways to get out,” batting coach Sanjay Bangar said. “Today also, the ball was too far from him. He’s just one hit away. We know he has got potential. It’s crucial for the team he performs. He’s on his second tour of Australia. There’s a lot of responsibility on him. He’s looking good. He’s played 30 Tests and he understands his responsibility.”

Subsequently, India can bring in more experienced Murali Vijay into the playing XI. Vijay had done well on the previous tour of Australia as he had scored 402 runs and had also scored a hundred at the Gabba. Furthermore, Prithvi Shaw had scored a fine knock of 66 runs to book his place in the last XI.
