Central Crime Branch Arrests Few More In Karnataka Premier League Betting Scam

Recently, we came across Police Men arresting Ali Asfak Thara for their alleged involvement in cricket betting in Karnataka Premier League. Now, yet another scam makes the headlines from the same tournament with the Central Crime Branch arresting the bowling coach and a batsman for manipulating the game as per the bookie???s demand.
Vinu Prasad, the bowling coach of Bengaluru Blasters and Vishwanathan, a batsman of the same franchise have been arrested for their alleged involvement in match-fixing in 2018.
Bengaluru Blasters bowling coach Vinu Prasad and batsman Vishwanathan was arrested by Central Crime Branch (CCB). It happened on Friday (October 25) for their alleged involvement in match-fixing back in 2018.

The coach Prasad of allegedly manipulated a game between Bengaluru Blasters and Belagavi Panthers. According to a tweet by Joint Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Patil, the batsman batted slowly on pre-decided terms.
???Another match-fixing case has been traced by CCB in the KPL. (We have) arrested Bangalore Blasters team bowling coach Vinuprasad and Bangalore batsman Viswanathan,??? Sandeep Patil, the Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), said.
Patil added, ???(Viswanathan) batted slowly for which he got Rs 5 lakh. Further investigation is on. A few bookies are involved, who will be arrested.???
Viswanathan played three matches last season. In which, he scored 14 off 13 against Bellary Tuskers, 5 off 6 vs Namma Shivamogga and 9 off 17 against Hubli Tigers. Meanwhile, Vinu Prasad has manipulated the game between Blasters and Belagavi Panthers.
Last month, Thara was arrested by the Karnataka Police???s crime branch for alleged betting during this season???s KPL. After the arrest of Asfak Ali Thara, now, the respective board suspended Belgavi Panthers for the alleged involvement in the Karnataka Premier League fixing scam.
Well, the police have questioned over 30 players in connection with the matter so far. While the duo has been arrested for betting, the police probe into the match-fixing scandal set to continue.
