Chennai Super Kings Players And Support Staffs Test Negative For Covid-19

In a major relief, Chennai Super Kings players Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad along with the other members of the franchise have tested negative for Covid-19. This development comes days after the news of Chennai Super Kings members testing positive with the deadly virus created a certain ruckus around the IPL 2020.

However, all the members of the franchise will undergo another Covid-19 test to assure their situation. The news relief the mood in the Chennai Super Kings camp up to certain limit as the departure of Suresh Raina for personal reasons also created a major havoc.

The Times of India reported that their next Covid-19 test will take place on September 3 and if all the players are tested negative then the franchise will be allowed to take over the field from September 5. The initial practice session will not include Chahar or Gaikwad as they are advised to stay away from the field till at least September 12.

The situation in UAE is also troublesome as a lot of cases have been reported from the country. The country had recently recorded 10 percent surge in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Chennai Super Kings were initially supposed to begin their training on Friday but now have been forced to return to quarantine.

Meanwhile, after VIVO pulled out as the sponsors for IPL, Dream 11 bagged the deal for Rs.220 crore for four months. IPL will get underway from September 19 with the final being played on November 10. However, the final fixture for the lucrative tournament is still to be announced, with Mumbai Indians set to put their title on defense.

The schedule for IPL 2020 will be announced on Saturday. It is highly likely that CSK will play the opening fixture against defending champions Mumbai Indians on September 19.
