Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians fans must be having contrasting feelings after seeing Chris Lynn’s latest innings in the Big Bash League. The hard-hitting Australian batsman was surprisingly released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the auction. And Mumbai Indians made the most of it by signing him up at his base price of INR 2 crore in the recently-concluded auction.

In the last two seasons, Chris Lynn was one of the batting mainstays for the two-time IPL winners. In 2018, he scored 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 130, helping the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs. Earlier this year, he was one of Knight Riders’ most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties. He scored at a decent average of more than 31 and scored his runs at a strike-rate of nearly 140.

Chris Lynn at his devastating best:

A couple of days after securing an IPL deal from Mumbai Indians, Chris Lynn celebrated his contract in style by smashing a whirlwind fifty for Brisbane Heat in the ongoing Big Bash League. After Max Bryant was out for just one, Chris Lynn took the Sydney Sixers attack to the cleaners. The right-handed batsman smashed 94 off just 35 balls.

Lynn reached his fifty off just 20 balls. His knock was studded with 4 fours and a Big Bash League record 11 sixes. Mumbai Indians fans would be delighted with Lynn’s latest performance and would be looking forward to see him in action for their team next season. Mumbai Indians are the defending champions and Lynn is looking set to play a vital role for them next season.

Mumbai Indians were in search of an opener after releasing Evin Lewis and they could not have asked for a better replacement than Lynn.
