Chris Lynn was one of the big name released ahead of the upcoming auction for IPL 2020. Kolkata Knight Riders decided to part ways with Chris Lynn despite the batsman being one of the fiercest T20 batsmen in the world right now. In the last two seasons, the right-handed batsman was one of the batting mainstays for the two-time IPL winners.
In 2018, he scored 491 runs with the help of 3 fifties at a strike-rate of more than 130, helping the Knight Riders make it to the playoffs. Earlier this year, he was one of Knight Riders’ most consistent batsmen, scoring 405 runs in 13 games with the help of 4 fifties. He scored at a decent average of more than 31 and scored his runs at a strike-rate of nearly 140.
However, the Knight Riders still decided to get rid of the batsman. Well, they might rue their decision after seeing Chris Lynn’s whirlwind knock in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 on Monday. The hard-hitting batsman created history during the encounter between Maratha Arabians and Team Abu Dhabi as he slammed 91 runs off just 30 deliveries.

This is currently the highest individual score in this format as he surpassed Alex Hales’ 87* (32) in 2018. He was in his elements right from the word go and did not spare anyone as it rained sixes and fours. He eventually finished his knock with nine fours and seven sixes. Riding on Lynn’s stunning knock, Maratha Arabians were able to post an impressive score of 138 for the loss of two wickets in the allotted 10 overs.
The score turned out to be more than enough as the Arabians registered a comfortable victory. Team Abu Dhabi finished their innings on 114 for 3. Former England batsman Luke Wright top-scored for them, scoring 40 from 25. For the Arabians, Mitchell McClenaghan was the pick of the bowlers as he conceded just 17 in two overs and picked up one wicket.
