Venky Mysore, the CEO of Kolkata Knight Riders, has said Chris Lynn is working hard and he would be fit for the IPL,

“Things are better than what everyone expected. Fortunately, the injury does not seem to be as bad as people thought initially. He is going to be working very hard for the next 30 days to get fully ready, with rehab and everything else. He is being very well taken care of by Cricket Australia support staff, and our support staff is also working closely in terms of coordination,” he told Sportstar.

KKR purchased Lynn for a huge amount of Rs 9.60 Crore.

He was also one of the contenders for the post of captain, but an injury to him automatically ruled him out of the contention.

Dinesh Karthik will lead KKR in IPL.

In the end, Dinesh Karthik was appointed as the captain.

He (Chris Lynn) got injured during the final of the tri-series against New Zealand when he landed on his shoulder while fielding.

He was straightaway taken off the field, and it later got confirmed he had suffered a dislocated shoulder. He later got ruled out of the PSL as well.

However, it got confirmed he would not require any surgery for the injured shoulder.

Lynn is currently going through the rehabilitation programme, and as Mysore revealed, he is working hard to be fit for IPL.

KKR have big plans for him; last year as well he wasn’t released when he got injured during the third game of IPL.

He only played his next game after a month, which shows that KKR had big hopes from him.

In the IPL auction, though, KKR did not retain him but spent big bucks on him to get him back.

This year as well, the success of the team will heavily depend on Lynn to open the innings.

Since the franchise also retained Sunil Narine, he is expected to pair Lynn at the start.

The franchise has three India U19 players as well, who will also have a big role, as the franchise spent big bucks on them.

Kolkata Knight Riders will play their opening game of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 8.

KKR Squad: Andre Russell (Retained), Sunil Narine (Retained), Mitchell Starc (Rs 9.4 crore), Chris Lynn (Rs 9.6 crore), Dinesh Karthik (Rs 7.4 crore), Robin Uthappa (Rs 6.4 crore Retained via RTM), Piyush Chawla (Rs 4.2 crore Retained via RTM), Kuldeep Yadav (Rs 4.8 crore Retained via RTM), Shubman Gill (Rs 1.8 crore), Ishank Jaggi (Rs 20 lakh), Kamlesh Nagarkoti (Rs 3.2 crore), Nitish Rana (Rs 3.4 crore), Vinay Kumar (Rs 1 crore), Apoorv Wankhade (Rs 20 lakh), Rinku Singh (Rs 80 lakh), Shivam Mavi (Rs 3 crore), Cameron Delport (Rs 30 lakh), Mitchell Johnson (Rs 2 crore), Javon Searless (Rs 30 Lakh).
