Premier South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris, who did not feature in the inaugural IPL 2020 fixture for RCB, will miss out on their second contest against KXIP on Thursday as well due to an injury. RCB Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson confirmed the development and said that Chris Morris will be hard to be replace.

Hesson said that is unfortunate to miss out on Morris in the squad after he picked up a slight side strain a few days ago. He also lamented that Morris could have played a huge role in the middle and death overs with the ball apart form creating an impact with his batting ability.

Chris Morris unfortunately picked up a slight side strain a few days ago, he would have played a huge role through the middle and death overs, his batting would have had a huge impact as well,” Hesson said in a video posted by on RCB’s Twitter handle

“This does change the balance of our side, he is a three in one cricketer, he is not easy to replace and as a result, we had to change the structure of our side

“Hopefully, Chris will come into consideration for selection in a game or two, we will continue to monitor him,” he added

RCB began the IPL 2020 season on a positive note as they beat SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 10 runs in the closely fought contest. The Bangalore franchise will look to add to their win streak in their second match of the lucrative tournament.

RCB will have an upper hand against KXIP. The Virat Kohli-led side, over the years, have struggled as they did not have the bowling to support their star-studded batting line-up. However, the scenario on slow pitches in UAE, has turned out to be different.

RCB will bank on youngster Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch to get them off to a good start. Kohli will then step in to add to the tempo of the match with AB de Villiers to follow. The big positive of RCB in the previous match was Yuzvendra Chahal. The wrist-spinner will again look to weave his magic by using the conditions to the benefit of his team.
