Confirmed: Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma To Get Married In A Heritage Resort In Tuscany
The wedding is now very much on the cards for one of the most talked about couple of the country- Team India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Reports of the wedding being held in Italy were viciously doing the rounds in the last few days but were soon dismissed by Anushka Sharma’s spokesperson.
However, it looks like those comments from the actress’ camp was just to avoid the hype as she is now looking set to tie the knots with the batting star.
According to Hindustan Times, a heritage property within a resort in Tuscany is being decked up for the grand location wedding, which is likely to take place next week. The report further claimed that sourced have stated that a high security corridor has been thrown around the resort with entry strictly restricted to guests with invitation. The sources also claimed that the wedding would be a typical Punjabi one. Professional bhangra dancers were spotted entering the resort while the traditional Punjabi beats of drums and dhol-nagare were also making their way out of the venue.
Kohli has reportedly organised a grand reception in Mumbai on December 26, a couple of days after India play the last T20I against Sri Lanka in the same city. The reception is likely to be attended by some eminent personalities of the country including BCCI officials, politicians and Bollywood celebrities.
The wedding will bring an end to an eventful journey which began on the sets of a television commercial, faced several tough moments but remained firm and are not all set to take their relationship to the next level.
In a recent interview, Kohli had confessed that it was Anushka who motivated him during his difficult periods.
“Anushka has taught me a lot over the last four years including how to be poised and how to utilise my position. She motivated me during my difficult phase when I wasn’t in the best form. And later, I ended up scoring runs. So it was a special thing for both of us,” he had said on Breakfast with Champions.
