It is a long tour for Team India. They recently got a comprehensive victory in three-matches T20 series with 2-1. In the ODI format, England defeated India by 2-1 after getting two consecutive victories.
The limited-overs format is designful as a rehearsal for the Test cricket. There is a lot of verbal duelling going on between the two sides. A lot of excitement and enthusiasm is flowing between both the teams.
Team India played a three-day practice game against Essex at County Ground Chelmsford that ended on a draw. India is geared up to contest in this crucial series.
There are a few miseries when it comes to Indian batting as it appears weary on occasions. However, the overall performance of the team was phenomenal.
A rough tour for Shikhar Dhawan:
Shikhar Dhawan, in particular, is not having a grand tour so far. The opening batsman of the Team India could only garner 19 runs in the T20 series. In One-day International series, he got off to an excellent start.
However, he could not leave his traces. In the practice game against Essex, he once again fell cheaply. He bagged a pair of ducks against Essex.
The dependable Pujara:
Talking about a dependable person from Team India, Chetheshwar Pujara shares a similar story.
Although Pujara did not feature in limited-overs format, he failed in the first inning against Essex. In the second innings, he got a good start, but he could not capitalise on it.
In the meantime, Shikhar Dhawan took social media to share a picture of him, Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli. He put a fantastic caption to the image while using his poetic skills.
The picture grabbed the eyeballs of Indian fans, and they were quick to react.
The tweet read: “Kaise na ho gujara.. jab saath ho Kohli aur Pujara! “
