Amid the pandemic, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is all set to get underway today with Trinbago Knight Riders locking horns against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the opening encounter of the tournament. CPL 2020 is the first T20 tournament that is taking place amid the pandemic.
Trinbago Knight Riders would start the game start as favourites thanks to their formidable squad. Led by one of the greatest T20 player of the modern times Kieron Pollard, they would be keen to start well in the tournament after finishing fourth last season. Other big names in the squad are Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, and Dwayne Bravo.
On the other hand, Warriors would be looking to take inspiration from their last campaign where they made it to the final. Before losing the final, they had won all of their games. The likes of Shimron Hetmyer, Ross Taylor, Nicholas Pooran, Keemo Paul and Imran Tahir make the team a good contender for this year’s title.
