Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi has begun his CPL 2020 on a strong note with brilliant performances with the bat and ball for St. Lucia Zouks. He has picked up nine wickets in the tournament so far and also returned figures of five for 15 against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to help his side clinch a thumping victory.

CPL 2020 for Mohammad Nabi comes after cricket was put on the back-burner due to the pandemic situation. Nabi said that it has been a long time since his side has not trained as they resumed after a few months but it was still not a proper training. He however said that the CPL experience has turned out to be exciting and it will be a proper preparation for IPL 2020 in UAE.

“It’s been a long time since we played cricket,” he said. “In the last Four months we didn’t play any cricket. We just had training sessions at home, after one month (of staying at home) we went for training and had a few knocks, but it wasn’t a proper nets either,” Nabi told CricketNext.

“Now we’re in CPL and I’m really excited to be playing in CPL this time. We’ll try our best to play good cricket and enjoy our cricket. Playing for Zouks will really help in the upcoming matches (after the CPL). I’ve got the IPL for me after this, this will be a proper preparation for it.”
