England bowling all-rounder Moeen Ali has claimed that he was subjected to racial discrimination by an unnamed Australian player, who called him ‘Osama’ during the 2015 Ashes series. But Cricket Australia is all set to investigate the matter.

However, Ali said the incident took place in the first Test in Cardiff. England won the match by 169 runs with Ali scoring a crucial 77 runs and picked up five wickets.

Moreover, Ali reiterated that he couldn’t believe what he had heard from the Australian player.

The prominent face of English cricket, Ali told that he was enraged and he also claimed that he never got angry on the cricketing field. Ali also said that he had conveyed this scenario with a couple of guys and he thinks Trevor Bayliss must have raised it with Darren Lehmann.

However, while the Australian coach asked the player, he silently denied and said a big ‘NO’.

“I could not believe what I had heard and I remember going really red.  (As a player) I have never been so angry on a cricket field. I told a couple of the guys what the player had said to me, and I think (England coach) Trevor Bayliss must have raised it with Darren Lehmann, the Australians’ coach.

Lehmann asked the player, ‘Did you call Moeen ‘Osama’?”. He denied it, saying, “No, I said: ‘Take that, you part-timer … obviously, I had to take the player’s word for it, though for the rest of the match I was angry.” Moeen Ali said.

Furthermore, Ali scored 92 runs and took five wickets, and England had won the match. They also won the series, and then again he spoke to the Australian at the end of the series.

Moeen Ali received another denial that the player had used the word “Osama.”.

Ali was a part of the miserable 2017-18 Ashes series. He also said that he had no sympathy for the three Cricket Australia players who were banned earlier this year. Moreover, he also found the whole Australian team rude.
