Cricket Australia is open to organising more tour games against India. In fact, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri has asked for more warm-up matches. According to reports, Shastri wants India to play more tour games before their main series begins against Australia. India had played none tour matches on the South African tour whereas they played a solitary warm-up match against Essex on England tour.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli hasn’t paid much importance to the practice matches. Kohli believes it is pivotal to take into account what kind of pitches they are playing in their warm-up matches. Furthermore, according to Kohli the opposition in the practice matches also matters a lot.

However, Indian players cannot get acclimatize to the conditions if they say ‘NO’ to the tour games. Kohli is batting at a different level and has the ability to mould his game according to the conditions. On the other hand, his teammates are not yet at the genius level.

Meanwhile, Cricket Australia has extended its support towards to organise more warm-up matches. However, they are still waiting for the confirmation from the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

“We are happy to discuss options with the BCCI, but we have not received any formal notification to increase the number of tour matches prior to their series commencing in Australia,” Cricket.com.au quoted CA spokesperson, as saying.

India will play three T20 Internationals, four Test matches and three One Day Internationals on tour of Down Under. The tourists will begin their tour with the first T20I schedule on 21 November.

It is imperative for the team management and Virat Kohli to play as many as warm-up matches as they can. Thus, it is crucial to get acclimatized to the conditions. It has been a sad story for India on the foreign tours and they would like to turn the tables in Australia.
