Cricket Fraternity Lauds Virat Kohli As He Reaches 10,000 ODI Runs
Virat Kohli, on Wednesday, scored his second successive ODI hundred, fifth this year and the 37th of his career in the ongoing second ODI against Windies.
It was business as usual for Virat Kohli when he came out to bat after Kemar Roach dismissed the in-form Rohit Sharma for just 4. He soon saw Shikhar Dhawan departing too with the scoreboard reading just 40. However, those twin dismissals made little difference to his approach as he bailed India out of trouble with yet another superlative knock.

He stitched together a partnership of 139 runs with Ambati Rayudu to lay the foundation for a good total. Ashley Nurse broke the stand when he castled Rayudu for 73. But unlike Rayudu, Kohli remained till the end, scoring 157 to take India to 321 for 6.
And the century helped him achieve some more milestones. Kohli completed 10,000 runs in the 50-over format. He broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record to become the fastest man to achieve this record.
Kohli reached the feat in just his 205th innings while Tendulkar reached the milestone in his 259th innings. Kohli also became the fourth Indian and 13th overall to score 10,000 runs in ODI cricket.
During the course of the innings, Kohli also went past Tendulkar to become the Indian player with most runs in ODIs against Windies. He reached the feat when he crossed the 47-run mark during his knock.
