There are few individuals in Indian Cricket History, who will be remembered forever for certain feats. One such player is Mohammad Kaif. The knock he played against England in the Natwest Final will always be one of the cherishing moments for Indian cricket fanatics. Meanwhile, the hero of that game turns 38 today.

Though that knock remains defining moment of his career, Kaif has always been the referral name when a coach wants to teach the fielding basics to the junior cricketers. Such has been the standard he set for fielding in Indian cricket.

A brief view on his career:

Mohammad Kaif was born in a Khatana Gurjar family on 1 December 1980 in Allahabad India. He started his career from Green Park Hostel and his father Mohammad Tarif is also a cricketer, who played for Uttar Pradesh and the Railways.

After knocking it brilliantly in state cricket, he was appointed as the captain of India U-19 side in the year 2000. Then he went on to play for India, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra cricket team, Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, India Red, Leicestershire and few more as well.

After calling curtains on his career recently, Kaif started his career in commentary and now, he signed a deal with Delhi Daredevils for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League 2019.

Coming back to the topic, cricketers and fans took to Twitter to send their birthday wishes to Mohammad Kaif. Sehwag tweeted ”May you follow your dreams. Wish you health, happiness, high jumps and diving around with your children.”
