Somerset’s main sponsor is Tribute Ale, which also happens to be the county’s official beer. But since Ali is a deeply religious person, he dons the Somerset kit without its logo.
Imad Wasim
Wasim plays for Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League. The T20 League has one of its sponsors as Appleton Estate, which is a rum manufacturing company. Since Wasim refused to promote the alcoholic brand, he dons the jersey bereft of the logo.
Rashid Khan
Khan, who plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League, does not wear the jersey bearing the logo of the tournament’s official sponsor- West End, a beer brewery from South Africa- since his religion Islam prohibits the alcohol.
Hashim Amla
Amla, who is the fastest to score each of the multiples of 1000-7000 ODI runs, is a deeply religious man, and so every time he donned the South African jersey, which for him came without the Castle Lagar- an alcoholic brand logo- he used to pay a fine to the cricket association of the country.
Imran Tahir
The most successful spinner that South Africa has ever produced, Imran Tahir has also followed his fellow teammate Hashim Amla footsteps and has never donned a Castle Lager-clad jersey of the rainbow nation.
