After a decent half-century against Punjab Kings in match 64 of IPL 2023, Prithvi Shaw revealed his mindset while batting in the match for his team Delhi Capitals. Prithvi Shaw also accepted that his team became a little casual while fielding.
Prithvi Shaw was benched in a few games in IPL 2023 earlier and after making a comeback in the playing XI against PBKS, the right-handed batter scored 54 runs off 38 deliveries. Batting first, DC set a mammoth target of 214 against PBKS and vanquished them later by 15 runs later. DC are out of playoffs and their victory has diminished PBKS’ chance to reach playoffs.
Prithvi Shaw Reveals His Mindset While Batting Against PBKS
In a video posted by IPL on IPLT20.com, Prithvi Shaw revealed his mindset while batting against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The DC opener said he was under pressure after the comeback but has put in a lot of hard work during practice sessions.
“I think the mindset was quite simple. After getting out in 3-4 games and then getting dropped and coming back. Definitely, I was under pressure, I won’t lie but the work that I have put in in the practice sessions, not missing anything and trying to work extra for it. Those were the little things that got me going tonight,” Prithvi Shaw said.

We Became A Little Casual While Fielding: Prithvi Shaw
Prithvi Shaw also accepted that Delhi Capitals became a little casual while fielding but added that it was because they had set a big target in front of Shikhar Dhawan and Co. DC dropped two crucial catches during the match.
“Like you said, it was tough for the fast bowlers out there. But I think our spinners did a really good job on this kind of wicket. Dropped catches – I think it happens in the game but maybe we were a little casual in between because we scored 213. But a win is a win. Obviously, a little bit late but we will enjoy it today. Everyone putting their hands up and not giving anything away. Everyone is smiling” the DC opener said in a video uploaded by IPL.
While Prithvi Shaw smacked 54 runs off 38 balls in the IPL 2023 match against PBKS, David Warner hit 46 off 31. However, Rilee Rossouw grabbed all the limelight with his impeccable knock of 82 runs off 37 balls, taking the DC scoreboard to 213-2 in 20 overs.
Later, Punjab Kings could manage to reach 198-8 in 20 overs, losing by 15 runs. Liam Livingstone slammed 94 runs off 48 balls for PBKS with his 9 sixes. However, due to a slow start and lack of enough support from fellow batters, the England all-rounder could not clinch victory for his team.
