Deepak Hooda to Lead Baroda in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018

All-rounder Deepak Hooda, who is an experienced campaigner has been appointed as the skipper of the Baroda team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018. The One-day tournament which will commence from September 19 in Bengaluru. Hooda has the experience of playing some of the stalwarts of the game. In the recently-held Indian Premier League (IPL), Hooda was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) squad.

Last year, Baroda showed a lot of grit and determination and won five of their last six matches to qualify for the Quarterfinals.

However, they were thrashed by Maharashtra in the Quarterfinal to bow out of the tournament. They will want to put up a much-improved show this time around and will be eyeing to win the championship. They have the players to achieve the feat.

Deepak Hooda will look to lead from the front:

Baroda starts their campaign against Mumbai on 19th September in Alur. They will be up against some strong contenders in Group B. Baroda team is placed with Goa, Railways, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Mumbai and Vidarbha.

Baroda has also named experienced all-rounder Yusuf Pathan in the squad. He is a world-class batsman and can also bowl some handy off breaks. When on the song, Yusuf can demolish any bowling attack.

Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya, who recently made it to the national Twenty20 squad is also part of the team. He might well be the trump card for them. He is a brilliant all-round cricketer, and his presence will help Baroda to go a long way.

They also have some other experienced players like Pinal Shah and Bhargav Bhat, who will want to help their team win the tournament.

Baroda has a perfect blend of youth and experience which will help them going forward in the tournament. Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda will look to lead his team from the front.
