Delhi Capitals Rope In Former India Physio Patrick Farhat

Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Delhi Capitals have roped in former Indian National Cricket Team physiotherapist Patrick Farhart. The franchise has signed Farhart on a three-year deal till 2022 edition of IPL.

Farhart joins Delhi Capitals

Farhart and fitness coach Shankar Basu joined the Indian team in 2015 and stepped down following India’s ouster from the World Cup. NCCI offered new contracts with the Indian team, but they chose to move on. Patrick Farhart is a cricketers favourite as the players are often seen having fun with him. Besides, he has done a significant job with the Indian side as most of the players have remained injury-free and the level of fitness has also increased significantly.

Seeing this as an opportunity, Delhi Capitals made the move of roping in the famous physiotherapist. Patrick Farhart has earlier worked in the IPL with Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. Furthermore, he has also previously worked with Australia, New South Wales, Sydney Sixers and Hampshire, besides working with major rugby and football teams in Australia.

Patrick Farhart seemed excited to work in the IPL once again and said that Delhi had made some positive changes in the last few years, which has had an impact on their result. He is keen to help them achieve more and better their performance in the upcoming seasons.

“I am delighted to be working in the Indian Premier League again,” Farhart said. “Delhi Capitals is a team that has made some very positive changes in its setup over the last couple of years, and the result is there to see in the side’s third-place finish in the 2019 season.

“It is certainly a team that is on its way up, and I am excited to be working with the players and support staff members in the upcoming seasons of the tournament,” he added.
