Shiv Thakor, the former England U-19 captain, was found guilty by a court of exposing himself in front of two women inside a housing estate on Wednesday.

The Derbyshire cricketer got arrested in July after committing two offences on June 12 and June 19 in Mackworth and Derby.

He was termed as ‘Shifty Shiv’ by one of the victims after he exposed himself through a ‘gap’ of his running bottoms. During a police interrogation at the Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court, Shiv said he had already been ‘sexually satisfied’ by his 16-year-old girlfriend, so he didn’t commit the offence.

Providing evidence, Thakor also admitted he had ‘a tendency’ to ‘rearrange himself’ both at the front and at the back.

However, the 24-year-old Thakor has denied exposing himself and intended that he would cause alarm or distress at the previous hearing. He was found guilty of both the offences and was granted unconditional bail until his sentencing on November 24.

The first victim said Thakor was ‘very quiet’ and ’well-mannered’ and added that ‘he knew exactly what he was doing’, after providing proper justification.

“I have got a tendency, that is almost a running joke, that I tend to rearrange myself both at the front and back during games,” Thakor said about his conduct.

However, District Judge Andrew Meachin in reply said to Shiv,

“I’m in absolutely no doubt that both women have given honest evidence to this court. I am satisfied beyond reasonable doubt that you have committed both of these offences.”

Derbyshire has suspended Shiv on full pay after the allegations came out in public and had not represented in a game since June.
