Dinesh Karthik Reveals How Rohit Sharma Almost Missed his Flight to the UK
When it comes to taking responsibilities on the field, Rohit Sharma is second to none. The India batting star has become one of the batting mainstays of the current side.
Three double centuries in One-Day Internationals, two in T20Is speak volumes of his calibre. Moreover, his captaincy record has also been brilliant. Three IPL titles as Mumbai Indians skipper pretty much proves how good a leader Rohit Sharma is.
However, off the field, the responsible leader is a??different character altogether.
Recently, his teammate Dinesh Karthik revealed an anecdote that more or less proves Rohit is completely a different man when he leaves the field.
Speaking on ‘Breakfast With Champions’, Karthik revealed how Rohit’s negligence almost cost him dear, just before he was about to leave for the??United Kingdom for the ongoing series in England.
“We all assembled in Delhi and were supposed to leave for the UK. Our man (Rohit) came chilled, having forgotten his passport back in Mumbai. It got delivered to him just in time; else he would???ve been left behind,”??Karthik revealed.
Karthik went on to reveal he has also had his fair share of goof-ups.
“That???s one of the things I want to change about myself. Supposed you???re talking to me, I???ll just get lost and that sometimes comes across as rude. A lot of times I switch on my phone to do something. But by the time it opens I forget what I wanted to do,”??he added.
Rohit then hilariously tried to defend himself, saying:
“Everyone forgets their passport, but these guys just make stories about me.”
Karthik then proceeded by stating he enjoys spending time with Rohit.?? Both the players are currently in England for the limited-overs series and will be looking to do well.
