Though the England Test skipper, Joe Root didn’t attract any bids in the IPL 2018 auctions, respective England and Wales Cricket Board doesn’t want him to put his name on a replacement list for IPL 2019.
Meanwhile, the ECB passed a green signal for the already included players. Coming to the Big Bash League, they permitted Jos Buttler and Joe Root to feature in the initial phase of the tournament.
ECB is conscious of the workload of a player –
As the next summer is going to be hectic for England, the respective board wants their players to take the rest as much as possible. They also sent instructions to all their key players in the setup.
The coming summer for ECB will also see the grand event, 2019 ICC World Cup getting underway at home. The major event will be followed by the prestigious Ashes series against their rivals Australia at their home as well.
Keeping everything in mind, the technical team suggested the board to restrict their players on the basis of the workload. Thus, the board has barred Joe Root from entering the IPL 2019 sphere.
However, Joe Root wants to prove his T20 calibre to the world by playing in the dominant tourney of the T20 cricket, Indian Premier League. However, it seems like the England skipper has to wait for one more year.
Ben Stokes to miss Big Bash League:
Of late, the stakes for Ben Stokes is quite high across the franchises. After clearing all his affray charges, the Big Bash teams are after the England all-rounder. However, ECB asked him to stay away from the BBL for next year at least.
Meanwhile, the reports by Sportsmail suggests there will be no chance for Ben Stokes to feature in Big Bash League. However, Stokes will ply his trade for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019.
