Fans gave Jasprit Bumrah a tough time on social media after the pacer’s no-ball once again cost India in the ongoing third England vs India Test at Trent Bridge.

Bumrah bowling no-ball at a crucial time of the game is nothing new. In fact, it would be apt to say that Bumrah taking wicket off no-ball at a crucial time of the game is nothing new.  Who can forget his infamous no-ball against Pakistan in last year’s Champions Trophy final.

Bumrah got the better of Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman, who edged a ball to MS Dhoni when he was batting on 3. The umpire wanted to check the no-ball and the replays clearly showed that Bumrah had overstepped his mark. Zaman made full use of the opportunity as he went to score his maiden ODI century and was only dismissed after scoring 111 more runs. Pakistan had gone on to thrash India to win the title.

Well, the right-arm pacer did something similar on Monday. And although it did not cost India the game but it frustrated the fans as his no-ball dragged the game to the fifth and final day. In the 87th over, he dismissed Adil Rashid but umpires went for a check and it turned out to be a no ball. Rashid, who had played just three balls prior to that, ensured that the Indian team pays for the mistake as he went onto play 55 balls by the end of the day.

England finished the day on 311 for 9, much to the fans’ frustration and they did not take long to take a dig at Bumrah.

But that the game is on the verge of getting finished is only because of Bumrah. He took his second five-wicket haul in Tests to put India on brink of victory against England.

The pacer dismissed Jos Buttler, who scored his maiden century in the match, to break the stubborn 169-run stand between the batsman and Ben Stokes. He later went on to dismiss Jonny Bairstow, Chris Woakes and Stuart Broad.
