Eng vs Ind 2018: Harbhajan Singh Congratulates Hanuma Vihari on his Maiden Fifty

India’s off-spinner Harbhajan Singh congratulated Hanuma Vihari on scoring his maiden fifty in the red ball version. The Turbanator said that the 24-year old batsman didn’t look that comfortable yesterday. In fact, the debutant showed great resistance with the bat to bring his maiden Test fifty. Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari got the much-needed luck under his belt yesterday.

England didn’t go for the review when Vihari was plumbed in front. Furthermore, an on-field decision was overturned when Vihari decided to send the decision upstairs.

However, the right-hander kept defying all the odds as he showed great stomach for the fight. Vihari started to rotate the strike and also picked seven fours and a solitary six to bring his maiden Test fifty.

In fact, the former Indian skipper Sunil Gavaskar was also impressed with Vihari’s technique. The Little Master said that Vihari can bat up at the top of the order as he has the right technique. Furthermore, India’s top order has failed to get going in this series.

It is impressive to note that Hanuma Vihari has hit the ground running in his debut innings provided the difficult conditions he had to tackle. In fact, the Andhra batsman has a first class average of more than 59, which is the best among the active players.

On the other hand, Hanuma Vihari put together an alliance of 74 runs with Ravindra Jadeja. Both the batsman showed great resistance to keep fighting in the middle. Jadeja has also brought up his fifty.
