Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has thrown support behind young spin sensation Kuldeep Yadav – to come good in the impending Test series against England.

The mystery chinaman Kuldeep had breathed down the neck of the English batsmen in the limited-overs leg.

Uttar Pradesh-based Kuldeep bagged a five-wicket haul in the first Twenty20 International.

Furthermore, the southpaw spinner took six wickets in the first One-Dayer. Consequently, Kuldeep was able to bamboozle the English batsmen. Sachin added the wrist spinner Kuldeep is all set to have a go in the longest format of the game.

“I have always maintained that he’s ready for the longest version of the game and that will be the most challenging one. I think he’s ready,” Reuters quoted Sachin as saying.

Kuldeep has a plethora of arrows in his quiver. Therefore, the Mumbaikar believes the former will do well in the English conditions. Sachin added that Kuldeep has the ability to compete against top-notch players.

“Looking at his repertoire he has the capability to go there and compete, without any doubt,” Tendulkar said.

It is a hot English summer. Consequently, Tendulkar believes that Indian spinners can come into the action if there would be help from the tracks.

“It will depend on the kind of surfaces that we get to play on. The English summer is pretty warm this time. If there’s a bit of help for our spinners then I am sure we will be in a position in the series to hurt them. That will be a critical factor,” he added.

Sachin went on to add that Indian team has a good balance in their squad. Both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja can contribute while batting lower down the order. Furthermore, all-rounder, Hardik Pandya can also chip in with both bat and ball.

“Ashwin and Jadeja can also bat. We also have a seam-bowling all-rounder in Hardik Pandya who can bat. That was one element missing, though Hardik’s just started his career. But whatever I see on paper, we have good balance”.

Indian fast bowlers had done wonders during the South African tour, which was a big positive. However, the visitors will not have the services of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah for the first few Test matches.

India will square off with England in the first Test match from August 1 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
