So, the stage is set for another decider between England and India on Tuesday (July 16) at Leeds. This time it is going to be the One-day International series after India has already bagged the Twenty20 International series 2-1.
India was insipid in the second One-Dayer and Men in Blue skipper Virat Kohli would look to tighten the screws. The tourists had ticked the right boxes in the first ODI at the Trent Bridge while they lacked the intent in the second game at Lord’s in London.
On the other hand, England would be delighted to get their counter punch right on the target.
More importantly, English Test leader Joe Root was able to bounce back into form at the right moment. On this bright note, England would go into the decider with their confidence on higher side.
Here is a look at the Predicted Playing XI of India:
Rohit Sharma:
Rohit Sharma had shown his class in the first One-Dayer. However, he was not able to repeat his magic in the second match. Thus, the right-handed opener will like to deliver big in the ODI series decider.
Shikhar Dhawan:
Shikhar Dhawan has provided two quick starts to the Indian side in both matches.
However, the southpaw hasn’t able to score a substantial score.
Virat Kohli (c):
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has looked in good form on the England tour. In fact, Kohli will like to play a big knock to get his team in a good position.
KL Rahul:
KL Rahul could not make the most of his opportunity in the last match. The flamboyant Karnataka-based batsman is in fine form and must bag his opportunities.
Right-hander Dinesh Karthik should get his opportunity as he is in the good form with the bat. Raina hasn’t looked at the top of his game with the bat. Thus, Karthik should make the cut into the final XI.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (wk):
Mahendra Singh Dhoni was criticised for his slow innings as he scored 37 off 59 balls in London. However, India had their backs against the wall as there was no support from the other end.
Hardik Pandya:
Hardik Pandya was expensive in his bowling spell. Pandya will have to shoulder more responsibility as he is expected to complete his 10-overs quota.
Umesh Yadav:
India will look to bounce back in the series.
Umesh Yadav is generating good pace. However, the veteran bowler needs to add more control to his armory. Thus, Yadav will like to make use of his experience.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was seen bowling in the practice session. Therefore, India’s pack leader might make the cut into the playing XI.
Kuldeep Yadav:
Kuldeep Yadav had breathed down the neck of?? English batsmen in the first match. However, England was able to play him better in the second ODI.
Yuzvendra Chahal:
