India’s chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav was able to change the complexion of the game by his another fine spell. England had a great start in the first One-day International at the Trent Bridge after Virat Kohli put the hosts into bat.

The host’s openers in the form of Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow had put together an opening alliance of 73 runs as England was cruising in the opener of the three-match series.

However, Kohli introduced his ace card Kuldeep after England got off to a flier. Roy and Bairstow were milking the Indian bowlers and a breakthrough was the need of the hour.

Kuldeep Yadav was able to help India to make a comeback.

The promising wrist spinner Kuldeep was brought in and he didn’t disappoint with the ball. The mystery spinner continued his domination over the English batsmen as he breathed down their neck.

Explosive Roy gifted his wicket as the right-hander tried to play a reverse sweep and was caught by Umesh Yadav.

Furthermore, Kuldeep was able to dismiss Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow in the front of the wickets. In the 13th over, Bairstow tried to guide the ball towards square leg but he didn’t pick Kuldeep’s googly.

The on-field umpire nodded his head and India’s appeal was turned down. However, Kuldeep was very confident that he has got his man and pushed Kohli to go for the review.

Kohli agreed with the chinaman and decided to to go upstairs for another look.

It was three reds and the in-form Bairstow was dismissed. Meanwhile, India could have had a better start had Kohli put the second slip in place on the first ball.

Umesh Yadav was successful in producing the edge of Roy’s bat but there was no second slip in place. Furthermore, India didn’t take a review against Roy in the same over which was also out.
