Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan feels Jos Buttler’s return provide England’s Test team with the “maturity” they need in the ongoing Test series against Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Buttler is making a comeback in the Test series against Pakistan. He last featured in the longest format since facing India in December 2016.

Vaughan feels Buttler can be a big player for England. Moreover, he wants to see Buttler perform, as he has in limited-overs cricket, having impressed for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL.

[Buttler] is a gifted player, he’s got an incredible mind on him, the way that he plays the white-ball game,” Vaughan told Omnisport.

The cricketer turned commentator also admitted Buttler didn’t do bad the last time he played a Test match. Moreover, he has got an average of 31 and Vaughan longed he plays with the same freedom.

He will bring maturity to England camp

The 43-year old Vaughan feels the first few falls balls will be crucial for the wicket-keeper batsman. However, according to the former batsman, if Buttler manages to do so, he will bat like limited-overs cricket.

Once he gets in for 20 to 30 balls, you expect him to go out and play exactly the way he plays in the white-ball game,” he added.

He also feels Buttler will bring the much-need maturity to the squad which a Test team requires.

The maturity that he’ll bring to the group will be good. I do think that the Test match team is a team that I look at and feel that they can be a little bit more mature in the way that they play, and I think Jos Buttler can help with that,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, England decided to bat first after winning the toss. They were 72 for three at lunch on day one at Lords.
