England and Australia will lock horns for a three-match T20I series ahead of the IPL 2020. SunRisers Hyderabad batting coach VVS Laxman has said that his wards will begin training for IPL 2020 from Saturday and also opened up on the new challenges for the team during a meeting organised through video conference.
Laxman said that the challenge will be different for their side as they would be playing away from Hyderabad. He however mentioned that the players will be looking forward to play the game they love so much and expects international stars Kane Williamson and David Warner to join them by September 21.
“I think it is going to be a different kind of challenge (playing away from Hyderabad) but ultimately I am sure we all will be looking forward to playing the game that we love so much,” VVS Laxman said during the first SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) virtual meeting.
“Hopefully from the 29th [August] onwards we will be back on the cricket ground, practising and once the tournament starts we will kick off with the matches,” he told the squad.
“Also to Kane [Williamson] and Davey [David Warner], all those who are on international assignments, all the very best and I am sure that you will be at your best when you join the franchise, starting the first game probably on the 20 or 21st [September].”
Warner and Williamson have been essential part of the SRH franchise. Warner led SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to the Indian Premier League (IPL) triumph in 2016. Though he was barred from participating in the IPL in 2018 following his involvement as ‘chief plotter’ in the ball-tampering scandal.
Warner was first appointed as the captain of the SRH franchise in 2015 with the side tasting its major success under his captaincy in the succeeding year. The Australian opener has been a dominating force at the top of the order as he has scored ample of runs with ease for the Hyderabad franchise.
