England registered another thumping victory against the Aussies by six wickets to take a 4-0 lead in the five-match series.

For the 2nd time in the series, Jason Roy bagged the Man of the Match Award courtesy a sensational century. Jonny Bairstow also played a brilliant hand which got them off to a steady start.

However, Australia batted well courtesy centuries from Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh. They eventually scored 310. However, in the end, it proved to be way too less, as England chased the total down with more than five overs to spare.

In the inconsequential clash, it was Aussie skipper, Tim Paine who won the toss and opted to bat. Australia got off to a pretty steady start, as openers Aaron Finch and Travis Head shared a 101- run partnership. However, it didn’t come in pretty quick time which eventually prevented them from scoring over 350. With the number of wickets they had, it looked a reality.

Adil Rashid dismissed Travis Head after a good partnership. From there on, it was another brilliant partnership between Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch which kept Australia firmly in control of proceedings.

The partnership of 124 runs came in 20 overs. It was sensible batting by Marsh, as he scored 101 off 92 deliveries which included five fours and four sixes.

Finch was dismissed just after completing his century in 106 balls. His innings studded with six fours and three hits over the fence. Marcus Stoinis and Ashton Agar also fell in quick succession, as Australia reduced to 256/5.

Despite some good batting by Australia. However, they never managed to hit the big shots on a consistent basis. A score of 310 would have pretty tough ten years ago. However, it is not the same in the current generation.

England has a solid batting line-up, and would have backed themselves to win the clash. They began on brilliantly, as openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow shared a mammoth 174-run partnership. It was some tremendous hitting by the duo which has been the case for the major part of the series.

Roy smashed 101 off 83 deliveries which studded with 12 fours and a couple of sixes. Roy and Bairstow dismissed in a quick span of time.

It was Billy Stanlake who bagged the wicket of Bairstow while Nathan Lyon got rid of Roy. Despite the fall of two wickets, England was in command of proceedings. A couple of wickets here and there didn’t matter, as England chased the total down with more than five overs to spare.

Wicket-keeper batsman Jos Buttler also continued his rich vein of form with 29 balls 54. His innings included nine fours and a solitary six.
