After a few same-sex marriages in the game of cricket, there comes yet another such couple, who made it public on Friday. The classy all-rounder from England Natalie Sciver and the match-winner Katherine Brunt are in relationship for a couple of years now. Finally, the couple came out of fear to get married.
Following the incredible final match at Lords in 2017, Katherine Brunt let her inner feeling out to Sciver. At the drop of the hat, Natalie Sciver said ”yes” to the proposal of the fast bowler. After dating for a couple of years, Brunt proposed her for marriage on New Year’s eve.

I choose to live my life – Katherine Brunt
Speaking of their relation, Katherine Brunt revealed that Natalie Sciver is madly in love with her. However, it took time for Brunt to convince her parents, as they are not convinced enough to accept their marriage. However, finally, they decided to live their lives in own terms thus letting the date of their engagement out.
England cricketers Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver announced their engagement on October 11, which is also coincidentally ‘national coming out day’ in the UK, after having dated each other since England’s World Cup win at Lord’s in 2017.
“She was madly in love with me!” But I was constantly putting her at arm’s length because I didn’t think it was professional and I didn’t want to stuff up our friendship. My parents are different to Natalie’s. They are quite Christian so it is not something that is done and that’s why it has held me back. They don’t believe in the way I choose to live my life, basically, so it has been quite difficult,” Brunt said.
Still, something is holding – Natalie Sciver
For Sciver, the all-rounder, the pressure wasn’t much as compared to Brunt. But the 27-year-old reckons that the same will add to her confidence. She is pretty much fearless in taking her decisions quickly.
“There is still something holding me back a little bit in everyday life. Subconsciously, there is a reason why I might put my hand in my pocket or avoid conversations about my relationships,” Sciver mentioned.
On the work front, Brunt (34) and Sciver (27) have been signed by the Trent Rockets for the inaugural season of ‘The Hundred’. They might join South Africa’s Dane van Niekerk and Marizanne Kapp.
