England Lions in Driver's Seat as India A Suffer Batting Collapse

After bowling out India A on the score of 197, England Lions further tightened the noose over the visitors during the ongoing unofficial test. At the end of the day three, Indian team found itself in dire straits.

Summary of the match so far:

While batting first, England Lions put a strong total of 423 runs on board courtesy Alastair Cook, who scored a fantastic ton well supported by Nick Gubbins and Dawid Malan, who both fall short to register respective centuries as well.

In reply to a pile of 423 runs, India A got bundled on 197. Prithvi Shaw displayed a promising spark as he scored 62 off 82 balls. Ajinkya Rahane also got 49 runs in the first innings whereas, the other leading run-getter was Rishabh Pant who scored 58.

No follow-on practice:

England did not ensure follow-on practice as hosts came to bat again. Mohammed Siraj bamboozled Alastair Cook early on, but he found Rory Burns out of syllabi who scored just five in the first essay. Burns got 38 runs this time. Gubbins too failed to score big unlike his first innings as Siraj removed him on nine.

However, Dawid Malan Impressed once again as he scored 56 well supported by wicket-keeper batsman Ollie Pope, who scored an unbeaten fifty.

Orders of declaration from England Camp:

After garnering a lead of 420, England Lions declared their innings and let India A bat after giving a target of 421.

India did not get off to a fine start. Both Prithvi Shaw and Murli Vijay displayed a poor show and lost their wickets for a score of nought.

Shahbaz Nadeem came out as a night watchman as he is batting along with Ajinkya Rahan.e who did not face a ball yet.

On the other side, Mayank Agarwal fell on the last ball of the day as he scored just a run. India is in a need of 410 after being 11 for three against England Lions when stumps were removed from the groove.
