Team India skipper Virat Kohli is on the verge of owning a unique achievement ahead of the second Test match against England at Lord’s, which begins on Thursday (August 9th).

Meanwhile, Lord’s is not a happy hunting ground for Team India. Out of the 17 Tests, they have played, the team had faced defeat in 11 of them while winning just two. With Ajit Wadekar being the first one to draw a match the venue back in 1971, it wasn’t until 1986 when the Kapil Dev-led side defeated the hosts for the first time.

Furthermore, MS Dhoni-led India side became the second Indian team to win a Test at Lord’s in 2014.

However, Virat Kohli & Co had a bitter start to their series losing the Edgbaston Test by 31 runs. It raised many questions on the preparation and the credibility of this Indian team which is currently at the pinnacle of the Test rankings.

Now, with the caravan shifting to Lord’s, Kohli has his eyes set on achieving what only Kapil and Dhoni have.

In 1986 Team India fought extreme odds under the leadership of Kapil Dev to taste first success at the mecca of cricket. The win came, as Kapil’s men handed David Gower-led England a five-wicket defeat.

Since then, the side had to wait for another 28-years for another victory at the Lord’s. MS Dhoni & Co emerged as the better team against Alastair Cook and Co by 95 runs.

Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see this India side has the pedigree to secure their third win at Lord’s against England within a gap of four years.

Here’s a look at all the Test matches that India have played at Lord’s:
