England vs India 2018, 4th Test: Twitter Reacts as England Strengthens Grip
Updated - 10 Jan 2019, 01:12 AM
England has strengthened their grip in the ongoing fourth Test match. The locals scalped three wickets to put themselves in the driver’s seat.
Meanwhile, India got their first wish of the day when they were able to take the remaining two wickets quickly. Mohammad Shami struck on the very first ball when he produced the nick of Stuart Broad’s bat.
It was England’s session.
Sam Curran could add only eight runs to his overnight score as the call for the second run led to his downfall. India was set a target of 246, which was never going to be a walk in the park.
In fact, India must have got a sniff of the difficult times to come when KL Rahul was done in by Stuart Broad. The Indian right-hander didn’t have any answers to the ball which kept slightly low. Rahul could not get down in time and ball smashed the stumps.
Meanwhile, there were huge expectations on Cheteshwar Pujara who was the lone warrior in the first innings. However, Pujara was sent back by James Anderson who got back to nip one. Pujara went for the review, however, he was sent back on the umpire’s call.
Furthermore, England’s pack leader James Anderson was able to get inside edge Shikhar Dhawan. Furthermore, it was a fine catch by Ben Stokes.
Thus, the onus is once again on the shoulders of Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He has the company of his deputy Ajinkya Rahane at the crease. Both these experienced right-hander has put together an alliance of 159 runs in the first innings of the Trent Bridge Test.
Thus, they will have to put a similar partnership if the visitors are to get close to their target.
It's okay. Shikhar Dhawan never disappoints me because I never expect anything from him.?

Even shikhar dhawan is not clear for what role he is in the team.
Typical Sunday spoiler is very soon expected #INDvENG— Abhinav Saxena (@abhinavsaxena16) September 2, 2018
If I am not wrong, Prithvi Shaw (@PrithviShaw) has padded up for a good net session. ?
After KL Rahul inconsistent run, it won't be a surprise if he actually gets an opportunity
Perils of batting in fourth innings, but lack of intent as well.#ENGvIND #TeamIndia #INDvENG @BCCI— Vedant Sharma (@VedantSharma_) September 2, 2018

Question – Why is Ali looking so dangerous while Ashwin who has more than 300 wickets didn't look anywhere as effective@vikrantgupta73 @bhogleharsha #ENGvIND
— Akash Shah (@akash4589) September 2, 2018
#ENGvIND There was no conclusive evidence that ball didn't hit the bat..it could have been bat hitting the bat/bat hitting the ball…so umpires decision prevails..Don't make mountain out of molehill ..cmon

To achieve chase like this india team need one n only @virendersehwag some one who come n make quick firing 50 to 70 runs #ENGvIND

India need 245 to win. No subcontinent side has beaten England in England chasing a 200+ target. The best effort came from India only – 174/6 at The Oval in 1971.
Can India do this to make it 2-2?#ENGvIND— Rajneesh Gupta (@rgcricket) September 2, 2018
Asian teams chsing 245+ targets outside the sub-continent –

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant test match this is. The ball doing its bit every now and then while batsmen are figuring out their way to survive. ??#ENGvIND #KyaHogaIssBaar

That is shocking – It is quite clearly bat on pad. Very very poor umpiring. England denied Kohli wicket by incompetent third official who cannot understand a TV replay. #EngvInd
