The renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle has backed Hardik Pandya’s inclusion in the Test side. In fact, there have been questions raised over the place of the all-rounder in the red ball version.
Harsha Bhogle came with an interesting fact to put weight his weight behind Hardik Pandya. The Indian all-rounder has been India’s second highest run-scorer behind skipper Virat Kohli. Pandya had scored a fine 93 in the first Test match against South Africa which has helped him take the second place.

Meanwhile, former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding had raised questions on the skills of Hardik Pandya. In fact, there is no doubt that Pandya is not yet a finished product as far as the bowling is concerned. The Indian all-rounder fails to hit consistent line and length which is the nuts and bolts of Test cricket.
In fact, Kohli has been the lone warrior for the Indian team. The Indian captain has scored 526 runs in the last five away Test matches. On the other hand, the other top five Indian batsmen have managed to score 505 runs in the previous five Test matches.
Thus, the numbers tell us a complete story that why Indian team is a one-man army. Interestingly, Ravichandran Ashwin is the third highest run-scorer in the last five Test matches.
Harsha Bhogle took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Bhogle tweet read as, “For all that is said about Pandya, he has scored more runs than any Indian batsman other than Kohli in the last 5 away tests. Not a lot but worth keeping in mind. By the way, no 3 is Ashwin!”.
