Former England captain, Kevin Pietersen has bashed the English batting line-up for their yet another batting failure in the 4th Test at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton against India.

After winning the toss and batting first against India, the hosts got off to the worst possible start losing their first four wickets for just 36 runs inside the first session. In familiar home conditions they have been found wanting time and against the moving delivery. It is pretty unfortunate to see such a good batting line-up getting dismissed so cheaply time after time.

Kevin Pietersen questions who is coaching the English batters

Pietersen who was watching the match was pretty disappointed with the performance. Taking to his twitter handle, he questioned who is coaching the English batsmen, as they are performing so poorly again and again.

“Who coaches England’s Test batsmen?! Who in their setup inspires them to to be their best?”Pietersen queried.

Meanwhile, Keaton Jennings got dismissed by a superb inswinging delivery from Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah set up Jennings perfectly, as he bowled three deliveries which went with the angle. However, he bowled a big inswinger and got Jennings trapped in the middle.

Team India bowlers have been impressive

Ishant Sharma sent back skipper Joe Root with a brilliant, moving delivery. Jonny Bairstow got dismissed with excellent delivery from Jasprit Bumrah which straightened after pitching. After doing the hard yard, Alastair Cook also got out cheaply by Hardik Pandya. It was a great low catch by Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Moreover, the Indian catching has been quite improved in the recent past.

Later, Mohammad Shami also dismissed Jos Buttler after playing a few good shots. He played away from his body and was caught in the slip cordon by Kohli. Ben Stokes also looked in good touch but was soon dismissed by another peach of a delivery from Shami. After the fall of the 6th wicket, Sam Curran and Moeen Ali, both making their comebacks in the Test helped England recover from a precarious situation.

Kevin Pietersen, who witnessed the England batsmen falling like the pack of cards, was left disappointed. However, the hosts got out on 246 on day one of the Southampton Test against India.
