Team India cricketer KL Rahul grabs a splendid catch to get rid of Stuart Broad on the bowling of Ravindra Jadeja in the afternoon session of day two of the fifth Test against England at The Oval.
Meanwhile, England dominated the morning session of day two of the fifth Test at the Kennington Oval. Jos Buttler has made a habit of batting with the tail as he once again took the hosts out of the precarious situation with a splendid knock.
However, India started the day on a grand fashion removing Adil Rashid right at the start of the day’s play. Jasprit Bumrah, who has returned with a bang trapped Rashid (15) in front of the wickets. Since then, Buttler steadied the ship to take the score over the 300-run mark.
Despite the wicket, India wasn’t able to cut off the scoring avenues unlike their efforts on the day one which kept England under constant pressure.
Boundaries came from time-to-time and the speed at which singles were taken pointed towards the inability of the Indian pacers to keep things under control.
England went to lunch without any further damage at 304 for the loss of eight wickets.
However, Jadeja struck immediately after lunch after a well-played knock of 38 runs.
KL Rahul takes a blinder to dismiss Stuart Broad:
Rahul once again continued his excellent form at the slips grabbing another one. Although he has struggled with the bat, Rahul has been pitch perfect in the field for India.
It’s required a brilliant jumping catch to break these outstanding partnership as Rahul brought the breakthrough.
Broad came running down the pitch but failed to get to the pitch of the ball as he looks to hoick it into the grandstand.
Broad miscues it as the ball flying high. Rahul runs back from mid-on, leaps forward and grabs his number 13 of the tour.
