Once again, India faced the debacle in the overseas Test series. It has been a long time since India winning a Test series in overseas excluding Asian oppositions. Meanwhile, the former Indian skipper, Sourav Ganguly wants the explanation from Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Bangar over England vs India 2018.

One of the trios of Cricket Advisory Committee, Sourav Ganguly strongly believes that the head coach Ravi Shastri and the supporter Sanjay Bangar should take the responsibility for the poor show by India in England.

Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Bangar should answer the poor show – Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly addressed the valid point by rising a concern on why India being dependent on the only batsman. He wants to know the answer for the lack of batting display by the other batsmen in the setup.

He wants both the main personalities in the team to answer the question of the poor show by the remaining batsmen. Apart from Virat Kohli, none of the batsmen showed consistency in tackling overseas bowlers.

Regarding Ravi Shastri, he has to be held accountable for the results along with Sanjay Bangar regarding why only one batsman is performing whereas others seem to have taken backward steps. Unless these questions are answered an overseas series win in the three countries looks impossible for India,” Ganguly told IndiaTV.

“This batting lineup hasn’t been making runs for a long time now. If you look at India’s overseas performances from 2011 until now, they have lost every big series. When Virat Kohli is at the crease it seems that he is playing against totally different bowlers as compared to when the other batsmen are batting,” he added.

Chesteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane’s ability also gone down – Sourav Ganguly

Furthermore, the former skipper of India, Sourav Ganguly feels that the senior batsmen Chesteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane too faltered in scoring for India. He asked why the skills of both the individuals gone down.

Ganguly felt that Pujara and Rahane looked like matching Virat Kohli’s ability in overseas during their initial days. However, he wants the batting coach Sanjay Bangar to answer the drop down in their calibre.

”I believe that the batting ability of the current players has gone down. There are a lot of reasons for this. Firstly, the players are short of confidence, whether you look at Pujara or Rahane, you’ll find that four years ago, the latter was matching Kohli shot-by-shot in Adelaide which is not the case at the moment. The same goes for Pujara too”, said Dada.

However, as Ganguly said, there is a lot for Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Bangar to address in their report to BCCI. It seems like Sanjay Bangar would face a lot of wraths as the batsmen are failing consistently.
