Former England skipper, Michael Vaughan has praised Ravindra Jadeja for his terrific show on the third day of the fifth Test match between England and India at the Oval.
Ravindra Jadeja, who was making a return to the side after the Afghanistan Test match, made the most of the occasion. The left-arm spinner initially took four wickets in the first innings, and later remained unbeaten on 86.
It was because of his contribution and a gritty debut fifty from Hanuma Vihari, which saw India making 292 in the first innings against England.
Moreover, Michael Vaughan also said Ravindra Jadeja is a good character for the Indian team.
Vaughan says Jadeja has got lots of energy in him and is also a good cricketer. The India all-rounder, however, joined the crease when the chips were down in the last session of the second day.
However, the fight Jadeja had shown in the first session on day three must have left Michael Vaughan highly impressed.
“Jadeja is a good character. He’s got loads of energy, he’s good fun, and he’s a terrific cricketer. You know what he’s going to deliver with the ball – and he played very cleverly with the bat.” Michael Vaughan told to BBC.
Furthermore, Ravindra Jadeja had impressed with the ball straight away by picking four wickets in England’s first innings before proving his capabilities with the bat to put India in a decent position in the match.
Michael Vaughan rated him as a terrific all-round cricketer. However, in the last session of day three, Ravindra Jadeja also picked up the wicket of Moeen Ali who is putting some good show for the England team.
As far as the game is concerned, England has a lead of 154 runs with eight wickets to their name, and two days play under the belt.
