Moeen Ali has been amongst the headlines in the past couple of weeks primarily for his performance against India in the Test series. However, he has failed to use the rough patches at the Oval recently and has sought help from Harbhajan Singh despite the presence of Saqlain Mushtaq in the camp.

Recently, Moeen Ali has come up with the splendid performances for England. Of late only, Ali picked up nine wickets against India in Southampton and was amongst the runs as well.

Moeen Ali asked me to have a look of his bowling – Harbhajan Singh

Speaking of the same, the veteran India spinner, Harbhajan Singh quoted England’s Moeen Ali wanted him to have a glimpse of his bowling. The Englishmen felt he wasn’t quite up to the mark in dealing with those rough areas at The Oval.

The India off-spinner gave his words of confidence to Moeen Ali and gave him a few suggestions to implement.

Harbhajan Singh felt The Kennington Oval isn’t supportive for the spinners as compared to The Ageas Bowl.

“Moeen felt that he wasn’t doing enough with the rough outside the off stump and that’s why he asked me to have a look at how he was going about his business. I told him that he was doing just fine, just that he was trying a little too much to hit the rough. But this pitch, unlike Ageas Bowl, doesn’t have huge cracks, so it is more about bowling on a good pitch,” Harbhajan told TOI on Sunday.

“Sometimes, when the cracks are not that big, the outside edge comes as much into play as the inside edge. I told Moeen he wouldn’t get those inside-edge bat pads as easily as he was getting at Ageas Bowl. So all he needed to do was relax and go about his job,” the Veteran advised Moeen Ali.

However, it would be interesting to see that what kind of an impact Moeen Ali can create during the second innings of the Indian team. Meanwhile, Harbhajan is having a great time as the commentator in the box.
