India has already lost the ongoing Test series against England. They are currently hoping to salvage some pride by winning the fifth and the final Test which is underway at the Kennington Oval in London. So far, Indian pacers bagged most wickets in the ongoing Test series.

Despite the bowlers being at the top of their game, India has managed to win just a solitary Test at Trent Bridge in the series so far. The victory was mainly possible due to India posting a competitive total in the first innings in Nottingham. They batted well in the second innings as well which set up the match perfectly for a 203 runs victory.

The pacers, in particular, have been a class apart. Ishant Sharma hass bowled the best I have seen him bowl over a consistent period in overseas conditions.

Jasprit Bumrah after being coming back in the third Test, he has bowled superbly and has been the standout bowler for India. Mohammed Shami has also bowled superbly. However, he hasn’t got enough wickets to show for his effort.

Team India pacers have bagged the most number of wickets in a Test series ever:

Courtesy their brilliance in the series; the Indian pacers have bagged the most number of wickets ever bagged by pacers from India in a Test series.

They have currently taken 59 wickets in the ongoing series so far. By the end of the match, one could expect the number to go up to at least 66-67. Thus it will be a record by a significant margin.

It was back in 1979-80 that the Indian pacers bagged 58 wickets in a series against Pakistan. That was the most wickets taken by Indian pacers in a Test series. Third in the list was when the Indian pacers bagged 57 wickets against Australia on their tour back in 1991-92.

Recently during a press conference ahead of the dead rubber, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane admitted to the fact that the Indian batsmen have let the bowlers down.

India was always a batting dominated team. However, in the last few years, it has been the opposite as pacers cherished the time.

Now, pacers have bagged most number wickets ever in the ongoing Test series against England.

The bowlers have risen to the occasion on most occasions. However, the batsmen haven’t been able to get runs consistently especially in the overseas conditions.
